Hi,

I just purchased a Sansui TU-70,not yet received,he is on the way.

He is described as functional, picks up strong stations and locks in stereo.

Nothing stipulates that manuals or procedures are included in this transaction, I concluded that not.

I easily found a circuit diagram, but I did not find the alignment procedures and very few details about this tuner.

If I find a manual on Ebay,i'll buy it, but until then,i would not dare bring it to a technician without it in hand.

Thank.

PS:i just asked here too:http://www.homecinema-fr.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1096&t=29944061

Seems to be 2 versions of this TU,

The one i have http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3010/tu702.jpg do not have a black plastic rectangular jumper for voltage.(but is multi voltage) if you look at the tap next to the transfo

Other than that,is there known differences in both tuner, parts and schematics, yes there is 2 schematics versions but why ?

If i buy one of both manuals ?

Could be just changes in the Front end or the IF Stages. That's the most likely scenario. Also the different voltage connectors would be separate from each other. There could be 3-4 different versions of the schematic.

Look at the Sansui 1000A. There are at least 6 versions. The majority of the schematic is identical. The only difference between the six are changes in the FM or AM sections, BIAS Adjustment (1,2,4 pots) and the voltage adjusters. Or combinations of all three.

Get the schematic that is the closest to the actual unit you have. You may have to buy both to determine which one it is if the changes are not immediately noticed on top. Changes in circuit will NOT be apparent until you check the actual circuit.

Here is the schematic that was glued under the cover

I see a few differences compared with others found on the web.

Ok. Have you checked the schematic against the actual unit itself. That's the best way to determine compatability.

Then get hold of ISAO ASAKURA at support@obsinc.us. He's very good with the SANSUI Tube Gear. He should be able to decipher your concerns.
