What are your thoughts on the udac? Do you use it just for the headphone amp or to output to a receiver? I would be doing the latter and have read some great reviews on these, though most of these are people just using it with headphones..

I actually use it for output to a receiver, and I think it just completely bumps your sound up to a whole new level. It adds a lot of depth and clarity to the sound. However, nudac does not do a good job at telling you the specs of the device, so Markthefixer suggested that so as not to damage my receiver, I put in on the aux input on the receiver. From what I understand, the aux input is directly coupled to the volume knob so that things do not get damaged by mistake.

Good to hear, thanks for the advice. That's basically what I've been reading - seems like this could be a pretty substantial improvement over my stock card. Supposed to be awesome for the $$ - the night I spent looking at these things, I was blown away at how expensive some of them were... Nice system btw.

Just keeps getting better the longer you look at it lol

I just thought I'd post some pics of my College Dorm system!

In the picture, you see:
Technics SH-4200 audio timer
Teac cx-350 tape deck
Sony tc-366 reel to reel deck (currently inoperable.... needs belts changed, idler wheel greased, and moving parts cleaned)
Realistic Bass Enhancer
Sony CD Walkman
Computer
The TV's not hooked up to the system, unfortunately... I ran out of inputs :D.

For speakers I have:
Klipsch bookshelf speakers
Realistic minimus 7's (not pictured here.)

Love your set up. I got a Teac CX-400 for Christmas back in the day. It looks to be the same as your CX-350 except it had blue flouro bar meters. I really wish I still had it. THat is a heck of a set up for a dorm room. :thmbsp:

Very cool setup.

I've been using a uDAC for about a year now with various receivers and amps. Sounds great and greatly reduced the footprint of my office setup.

Thanks for the complements guys! I definitely think that's a good suggestion Juan! Thanks! I would especially love to have the Pioneer u24 switching unit some day.... :D.

Update: Here's my dorm system for this year!
