Not sure how old exactly but they're old. Picked them up for practically nothing at a TS because they were missing one grill and one tweeter was totally blown, with only tatters left of the cone.
After determining that the tweeter was dead, I snagged a pair of Jensen alnicos of similar size and also a new pair of Audio Alchemy caps.
The Jensens were extremely brittle cones so I painted them with fabric glue. I also coated the woofers for good measure. I mounted them on a liberal bead of Goop.
Hooked them up to a Marantz 2215B and they sound really great. Very warm but detailed sound, and very full sounding. Highs are not overly bright but are rich. The sound is very organic.
I had planned to fix and sell them but now I think they're keepers.
I still have to finish the grills and do a little work on the cabs. I already patched the missing slivers with leftover veneer I had from fixing an antique cabinet.
I have the woven cloth from the one grill but will look for something simple and classic at the fabric store this week.
