Yes, you can't beat "Saucer full of Secrets". Has anyone seen the cover of the new Darkness album? Cheesy as hell, I love it.

I dunno, but this definitely looks like something that would come out of Sid Barret's head.

That would indeed be the artwork of English composer Roger Keith Barrett. (aka "Syd")

Andy Warhol always did great LP work:

Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers: real zippered fly
Velvet Underground & Nico: peelable vinyl banana

Always had Ohio Players at the top o' my list. I would stare at these as a teenager every time I visited a record shop.

seems to have a few remaining, too.

My brother gave me this for my birthday present just before Xmas. Plenty of good artsy covers back in the '60s.

Let me try that last one again...

(it's SUPPOSED to be Rush's Permanent Waves.)

From Hugh Syme, Rush's cover artist on the 2112.net website:

Quote:
...I walked out and, in the doorway, said "Wait! Let's try something with Donna Reed, with her permanent Toni hairdo, and have her walking out of a tidal wave situation.

Neil gave me this blank look and said, "Get out of here."

The following day, he asked me to consider doing just that because he'd discussed it with the band, and they'd all thought it was more likely for a cover than the serious approach.
