I've never heard them but I have a pair of Polk R15's that you can buy at Fry's for $40 a pair. I bought them for my garage and they actually sound decent for the price. If nothing else I bet the Polk's would be easier to sell in the future.

Duff, the Insignias kick ass all over the R15's......

I'd buy a pair myself, but I'm not brave enough to venture into BB a week before Xmas! Maybe shortly after the holidays.

Order online and then do a store pickup. Just need to get to one counter and then you're out. Took me all of 10 minutes when I got mine.

Yep, they went back up. I decided to buy another pair and they were back up to $49.99. I passed. I'll wait for a sale. I've already got two pair.
2 speakers on the left, 2 on right. Sounds great!

Man, 3 pairs of those Insignia's would be great for an HT rig on the cheap. Either 5.1 (with one spare) or a 6.1, all you'd need is a cheap sub and you're set. Maybe the PartsExpress sub kit discussed here on AK?

I think it would be fun just to experiment with mods. I was reading about Danny's mod kit at the link posted elsewhere. Even just adding some fill or sound deadener (BH5, SoundKote, etc) would probably help.

I bought them months ago (the first time they were 'discovered'), and added fiberfill behind the driver along the cabinet walls. Helped immensely.

Ultimately I returned them (with the fill still in there...) and used my Athena's instead. The Athena B-1 sounds a bit more coherent and refined, but the Sig's had more slam at the cost of smoothness in the mid / treble.

I had plenty of speakers and just wanted my $ back. I might go get another pair simply because I have $15 Best Buy Bucks to spill. When they go on sale again, I should be able to land a pair for $25.

I did an HT installation, recently, using two pairs of these Insignias. The customer was looking for HT on the cheap. For source, a Panasonic XR-55, class D, 7.1receiver was used. No sub was installed per the users listening habits and budget. All in all, it ended up being just what the user wanted, cheap HT and a fairly good stereo setup for CD and FM. The XR-55 gives enough power to the Insignias to bring out their better qualities. They really like the juice.

That's low.

in store location

they are in surround sound aisle, and sales people will be unaware of their existence. Expect a bashed up pair on display, and two boxes down low or up high.
