Hi all,
Looking to replace the two main smaller filter caps (the two 1000uf Nichicon caps), and the 4 power supply caps. My plan was to replace the two smaller caps with Elna Silmic II's of the same value or slightly higher value, nothing above 1500uf.
For the 4 larger caps, should I even bother? It seems that the only caps available in this size are computer grade caps, and I honestly have no idea what effect this would have on sound quality. I haven't taken apart the amp just yet, but it looks like all 4 of the larger caps are of the same value. I'll take a closer look tonight after class.
