    NAD 3020B question

I vote for a cold solder joint. I had some in my 7130 that would make the LEDs for the tuner act funny. In my case there was a ribbon cable with poor solder joints on the PCB.

    Goodwill/SA/Thrift Store Discussions & Finds

This series is really nice. You can poke around with the settings on the front panel. This lets you dial in EQ points and cut off frequencies for the tone controls. Also if your running just two channel mode dig into the controls and set it to BIG speakers and turn of the sub woofer to send...

Difference between Sansui AU-217 and AU-217 II?

Besides the transformer difference. There is a slight cosmetic difference with the front panels. The first version has a small stripe down the front panel and curved meters. The second version has no stripe and flat meters.

    JBL l60t

I would replace those 6 uF electrolytic caps with some kind of film cap to get better performance from that sweet tweeter. Something like this but a 6.2 uF would probably be fine too. https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/solen-capacitors/solen-6-mfd-fast-cap-400v/

Calling All Yamahas. Time to Post Your Pics

Your right it is was part of a rack system. I had one rack system that was similar based on the A30 amp with a 7 band EQ, 100 WPC. It was a pretty good amp but not as desirable as the higher end 80s offerings. It still rocked for the money. :)

    Transistor recommendations for Sony STR-6065?

An A designation directly attached to the part number most likely refers to a higher operating voltage than one without the A. It would be best that the A replacement part be a least equal to the A level voltage unless you are sure about the circuit operating voltage. An A rated part can replace...

JBL 2600 vs. Polk 5jr for office system with Onkyo TX-822

I have the 2800 version of those with the same tweeter. What kills the tweeter performance is the cheapo parts they put in the tweeter path. The cap has probably drifted out of spec by now and those little resistors are very gritty sounding. Once I replaced those parts the tweeters sounded much...

    Any Steppenwolf fans here?

Of my first 3 hand me down LPs 2 of them were Steppenwolf. Live and 16 greatest hits. The other one was some Three Dog Night LP with one on it. I actually saw them live at the Santa Clara County Fair back in the 90s. Those guys sounded like they just arrived from the early 70s. :D
