Personally I run a newer tube amp and a vintage pre amp, just happens to be where I ended up and was most pleasing to my ears. Dead quiet at idle. When in doubt, let your ears be the judge.

I prefer original pressings, I have also been stung by poor "New" pressings once too many times. Also the cost, If it is something I have to have then I'll purchase the cd instead which is always much much less expensive. I listen to records exclusively and the cd player in my system is there...

I called Jolida couple of years ago and the owner spoke to me for a bit and helped me solve my dilemma. I recently bought a turntable from Small Audio Repair and Alex was always quick to respond and answer any questions I had, they are based in Croatia.

I am trying to establish the correct way to install and use this pre amp. How exactly is it connected? I have tried with the output from mc cart to the input of the hv-1a then into the phono input of a pv-2a. I think that is incorrect.
