AIWA users thread here!

Resurrecting this thread with my first vintage Aiwa acquisition, model AR-143 from the mid-60's. Purchased it at my local antique store for $14 a month ago.. Currently listening to some Vicente Fernàndez on AM with Aiwa branded earphones, sounds great!

Heavy for the size. Not much information about it.

Stunning!

Does the mean I can join the squad?

Rob :)
You're IN! AD-F780 here, last of the metal fascia Aiwa decks (I believe).

Used to have a red AIWA HS-U07 in the 80s
was a pretty good player of the walkman type
Not sure what happened to it, may still be lurking around somewhere in an old box of stuff
I will have to look for it

About 2 years ago you started a similar thread which had some legs as it is still active as of today, why not just add to that thread as opposed to creating another?

Edit: I see you did post to that thread too

I feel like making an Aiwa squad thread for all the AKers that own or use an Aiwa product from just about any time,

What about you, Aiwa fans or owners of Aiwa products?

Aiwa, eh? Here we are using my late mother's Aiwa component system as temporary solution while our HTPC is being upgraded.

Nope, we don't use audio rack. But the gears are pretty safe under the table.

Replacing the AVR with the said Aiwa component system, especially since an AVR is pretty much useless without a source unit.

For temporary surround, we're using Dynaco QD-2. Unfortunately its center image is pretty much abysmal.

To me, Aiwa gives a very strong 90's era impression. It was when my dad has given up being an audiophile and use the "cheap, easy-to-use Aiwa" instead of his hand-picked gears. Also, I was in highschool during that day, and Aiwa was very popular brand at that time: cheaper than Sony, but no less robust.

I remember when we used to sell Aiwa. Oddly, the only actual component I remember was a cool remote controlled cassette deck. It was pretty nice. I believe they also had a sweet little "mini" system.

They have many sweet mini systems IIRC. Aiwa is one of the most memorable things from the 90s.

Have a pair of Aiwa speakers if anyone wants them. Working I think but it's been a while. Just pay shipping from 48624.
Model sx-naj312. 80w.6ohm. About 13" high. 9" deep.

Does anyone know were I can buy 4 nylon gears/sprocket for a AIWA SD-L10C Mini Cassette Deck.
They 23 teeth, 0.48"/12.23mm dia, 0.125"/3.25 I dia hole, 0.10"2.62mm thick.
They are used to run the cassette FF and REV.

I am still using (or I will be as soon as I install the new belt) an Aiwa AD-3800U cassette deck that I bought used in the 1990's. Wonderful machine, and with the automatic adjustment of the record bias, equalization and sensitivity, just about any name-brand tape, regardless of formulation, sounds great.
