I really like my MK IV with the Vortex red dot sight on it.

A few words of caution...Do Not Go To The TandemKross website...it will cost you dearly.... ;)

That's where I plan on ordering the mag disconnect disabler thingymabob from. They got a lot of good stuff there. I want to put some g10 grips on it, but for $50, not worth it. The stock ruger rubber grips are functionally perfect, but they don't look cool. Meh, guns are money pits, like most hobbies.

I have a Ruger Standard and a MKIII and I hate tearing them down for cleaning. I salute Ruger for simplifying that process with the MKIV.
My favorite .22 semi handgun is the old HIgh Standard pistols. I have a 1949-1959 G-B that is 1 button release for simple takedown and is made like a Swiss watch. I don't look at the Rugers anymore, I look for more HS.

Here's my latest acquisition. It's a ruger mk4 22/45 lite with a bushnell trs 25 on top. Never shot a pistol with a red dot on it, pretty neat. I got it dialed in for a 2" orange sticker @ 50'. I love how easy takedown is on the mk4s, just push a button, and it comes right apart. The only mod I want to do is remove the mag disconnect.

Nice .22. The balance looks right. I guess I'm just old school, something about picking up the front sight, pressing the trigger.

The rugers and high standards are both great pistols. I run a thunderbeast can on mine. Frankly it's pleasant to shoot, but impractical to carry around.

Looking at the keltec .22 mag with the thirty round mag. That" mag" ups the game hugely.

Anyways nice pistol.

Been awhile,

Getting ready for steel @ 840 iron sighted. I’ll tell you after 700 things are getting tough. I’m still good but struggling and trying to hang on as long as I can but glasses are in order.

7.62 is that a m-1 or m1A?. Bitchen rifles, will do everything your ask of it. The ability to hit at 700 consistently without a scope is an " Art" I'm not that guy. Congrats to you.

We're pulling for ya, Dirk. Let us know how you are doin'.

Gentleman, had the back procedure as stated. My lower back is now pain free. Other issues exist, but I can live with them.

Also I noted a flaw in my post above, the powder load is not 24.5, but 44.5g, of Varget. I'm sorry I didn't catch that measurement discrepancy. That 24.5 out of a .308 could cause serious issues.

Tammy, that's a very nice set up. I can't even get to my loading gear right now, I've got like eight sets of large speakers stored in my loading room.

It's refreshing to know ladies are into shooting and loading to that degree. Nice.

These are a few of my favorite things (to carry) :D

If you need to move a set into my reloading room I'm ok with that...

I love to shoot and I love to feed my EDC so it was a must have. working up a good load for the Sierra V-Crown bullets 9/124g

I take it you're talking about the pmr 30? My friend had one, totally inaccurate, and keyholed most of the time. He got rid of it. I dunno if they're any better now.

Couple of things about that PMR-30.... I remember a review done a few years back, by Hickock .45....granted, he is a better shot than most pistoleros, but he didn`t seem to have much trouble hitting just about everything he aimed at.
Also, IIRC, that thing only takes the .22 MAGNUM round, which ain`t exactly cheap, especially when you`re dumping out 30 rounds at a time....

Hey Dirk,

Glad to hear your pain free man, at least in the lower back. It’s an M1, and it now as company as I just acquired my first 1944 Springfield so we have a mean pair of two. Just kinda fun little story for you, I took my youngest son to the range, the day that picture was taken (30) last week, he’s never shot the M1. I started at 100 yards and we progressed to 980 yards 3 foot round gong. Lots of guys shooting F class rifles and fancy scoped rifles. Soon the entire range was watching as it was boom....thwaaak on the steel, turning into a tink at the further ranges.

It was neat, and a supreme day as I watched my son take a deep interest, he spotted me as I would shoot first then he would shoot and I spotted him along the way running the windage knob up. So the 1944 I bought is for him and I can now pass on my skills to him, or that ART as you say it .

As a father I’ve been very humble these last few days.

(M1 1903 A3 breach loading magazine fed shoulder weapon) sorry all this gun talk short circuited my brain and put me back to 14 with my rifle at military school.
I’ve noticed many audiophiles (like that phrase or not) also admire the craftsmanship and engineering that goes into other things like firearms and watches.
I see many guns I would be proud to own, no junk here for sure.
