Thought I'd share the cloth I installed on some OLA's. The new cloth is on the walnut beveled OLA's.
The other pair are all original mint condition utility OLA's. The new cloth is a really close match.
The cloth was purchased from 123 Stitch. Stock # 59-140X.

Very nice, thanks for the tip. Will look good on many "to dark for my taste" speakers.

The old cloth is pretty close to the 18 count of the new cloth but where they differ is that the old cloth threads are tighter/thinner so it has more "openess" in the grain. I didn't see any new cloth with similar characteristics to the old cloth in a matching color.

The original grille cloth color is accurate based on the backside stapled cloth color. No sun fading etc.
The color match of the new and old is closer than the pictures show really, I ended up with some shadowing and non clarity when I snapped the quick pic's.

Yeah, it looks great and, on the original Advents, the cloth on the walnut version was different from the utility version. It is softer and fuzzier. The cloth on the utility version is stiffer and the threads are more "cohesive" so the openings between them seem more "open" as you found.

I am ordering a couple of the 18" X 27" size for my very early walnut pair, the cloth of which had yellowed terribly long before I bought them. I tried to restore it but to no avail.

And finally, some 18 count fabric of the correct color. I have always been able to find the correct color but not 18 count or, the other way around.

My grille cloth arrived today and it's an excellent match. It is so close to the color and thread count of my existing Advent original cloth, nobody will ever know, maybe not even me. :D

Thanks a lot for posting this, Jef.

Based on this thread, I bought two of the 18" x 27" Natural Light Linens from 123 Stich to recover my walnut beveled OLAs. Only one grill was damaged (damn cat!) but I got two so they would match. I received them this week and I happy to report that this cloth is almost a perfect match. So much so that I only ended up recovering the damaged one. My speakers are about six feet apart and you wouldn't notice a difference unless I pointed it out. I also A-B the original to the new one and the sound is the same. This cloth is expensive but if you want an accurate replacement, it's definitely worth it IMO. Thanks guys!

Here my Smaller Advent grill cloth replacement.

Found at a habitat store for $5!
