Marantz, McIntosh, Tannoy and Thorens find of a lifetime

A couple days ago I acquired an unreal stereo console. I was at a charity store and saw what looked like a nice stereo console which was exciting enough to find... until I opened the hood to find out the inside was loaded with high end components including... all for $280...

-Marantz Model 7 preamp
-Marantz Model 8B amplifier
-McIntosh MR 65B tuner
-Thorens TD-135 turntable
-Two Tannoy 15” monitor speakers with Tannoy crossovers

Couldn’t be more excited to get this thing back to its former glory.

My main questions initially is that I do not know how to find a reputable tech to service this equipment. I live in upstate NY near Albany. I see there is a shop in Clifton Park, NY called The Stereo Workshop with good reviews but wondering if anyone had any experience there or somewhere else fairly close... I dont mind driving for the right shop.

WOW! You struck gold! All drool worthy, valuable gear!
Being in that console really preserved the components to near mint condition after a good cleaning!
Mike at Hudson Valley HIFI in Florida NY is very good. His main focus is tube gear.
Cheers, Glenn

Sorry I didn’t clarify but it will all be together soon. I drove to the store in a sedan so I purchased everything but only took home the components at the time. I am going back to get the console next week when I have access to a truck!
Smart move to take the gear out immediately. I picked up a custom Mcintosh console at an auction last year and when I came back a few days later with a truck to pick it up, the knobs had been pilfered...

Congrats on a wonderful find!

I know that the man who runs the Stereo Workshop is a friend of @RoyC so you may want to reach out to Roy. I do not know if he does tube repairs. However Roy does know the capitol district well. He may be able to steer you in the right direction for local repairs and help with the speakers in the meantime!

Otherwise, both @BassKulcha and @GD70 offer great insights on repairs that are not quite as local.

Good luck!

Thank you! That’s all great information, I will reach out to Roy.

I would ask in the turntable forum about getting that TT restored. It shoud be well worth it.

It’s a good thing you took everything out!

Bobhorn
Btw if you Pm me I can put you in touch with my Tube Guy not too far away in NY
