Hey there,

I'm a young musician/producer, just got my second reel to reel tape recorder.

when I plugged it at home I ran into this problem:

Anyone knows what it can might be ?

Greetings.

Hi Alper, welcome to Audiokarma!

It's not a malfunction, it's a feature ;) The A77 has a remote control socket in its top recess, next to the inputs/outputs. You need to have a dummy plug inserted in this socket, otherwise the transport functions will not remain locked, just like your video. If your Revox came without a Dummy plugs, they are easy to find on the auction sites.

First, you should load a tape. The A77 has a tape-end sensor that stops the motors when...there's no tape:rflmao:

Oops, you're right! I'm so used to telling people who forget the damn plug that I didn't even see the even more obvious tape sensor. Silly me
