Show Us Your Sonys!!!

View attachment 1855845 So here is an unfortunate victim of my stupidity. What a wonderful sounding piece before I was setting the bias and slipped off the terminal and shorted it against the neighboring resistor. Blown fuse instantly
I just actually read this. Was jamming through the thread and just recognized the picture.

Well, that sucks. Did you see smoke or just a blown fuse?

Experimenting with some Sony stuff lately..

Greetings from Germany.. :beerchug:
Wouldn’t you know that I got the stands for these LaVoce when I bought the 777ES. I notified my friend of the mistake, he’s looking for the 777 stands (he has this warehouse of toys) No matter, they work well, if a little small. Nice yellow pine. 17BD34D4-4CA7-4FC0-9BAE-AA7F4BCF9CEB.jpeg

Oh wow.. would be nice having the fitting stands.
But unfortunately that would never happen for me.. I caught a special version. The first owner ordered the speaker in black colour from Sony in Amsterdam.. and Sony delivered. I've heard it wasn't uncommon for Sony at that time to sell slightly different versions of their upper-class models.
So I think stands with a fitting finish never existed for my speakers.. I will overcome that most probably.

Rare Sony selector for speakers, amps etc. Very used in the 70/80s in showroom for equipment sales. Very convenient, I haven't seen one of these in years.Nice find

..so they come in pairs? ...you lucky dog, Congrats!

Thank you, thank you!!!

It was an amazing adventure to get these and I’m shocked it worked out. From driving from San Francisco to Sacramento twice after an initial missed connection, adding up to a good 11 hours of driving, weathering sniping attempts from under me by people offering more. To discovering there were two of them, not just one amp, and the second was non-op (and then finding the amp did work) and renegotiating. Currently testing through some NHT 2.1’s in the place I’m vacationing in, they sound SO effortless and have a massive soundstage. I cannot wait to try through the Sonus Faber Olympica II’s being fed by the Cambridge Audio Azur 851N network player/dac and Tidal at home.
