Show your JBLs off

I have 18Ti and L20T in my office, and I like the L20T better.

Bottom of the line for the Ti line, ... still nice speakers just need a sub. Excellent find!

To be honest, I only bought the 18s to have backup tweeters for the 240Tis. I think that most 18Tis get parted because the 044Tis are worth more than a pair of 18Tis. Really a shame because they're great little speakers.

Yep, my friend is keeping his 2 pair of 250s - and I suspect these were backups just in case ...
But I love the look of the cabinets and that grove in the cabinet is a nice style touch.

We had a demo years ago (2010) at a friend's place down in Virginia -
18TIs, L20Ts, T3s and the newer L1s .. they were all pretty similar, with subtle differences,
tho the L1s won the sound check. (BMWCCA was there).
I personally hate that black cabinet look, and will take a nice wood or veneer any day -
but I'm old school that way.

My notes from that weekend -
"The first pass ran through the 6 1/2 woofers ... 18Ti vs 4401 vs L20T vs L20T3 (in custom cherry veneer)
and after eliminating the L20T, we subbed in the L1s that Phil brought along ... Interesting comparison, front port vs rear port.
They'd seem to be very similar speakers, yet such differences in sound!

Next up were comparing L96, L110, L50 and Lx600 - we agreed they sounded much different upstairs on the rug & floor
than they had last time downstairs on the concrete floor in the cellar."

I agree with you on the wood over black cabinet, ... except on the 250Ti, I absolutely love the piano black 250Ti.

Your photo reminds me of a photo I took before the great JBL Monitor downsizing: L15, L20T, L100A, 4312A, 4410A, 4412A, LSR6312SP, LSR6328P, ... happier now!

Thanks.

I like the L65As, sound very good on the floor, no need for stands. They're my baby L300s (until I get a nice pair of L300As). I've found that they take a bit of power to wake up, 50 tube watts is plenty though.

Flying through Charlotte tomorrow, one of my favorite airports. Hearing live music in the AA terminal bar is great!

Both are on my wishlist :) . One of these days...

These are my first pair of JBLs. The L36 ..they were in and still are in rough shape however they sound pretty damn good...(actually really really impressed ) don't know what else to say they really blew me away and I kinda have a lil experience in vintage speakers I think......btw they are halfway through a complete restoration....

This just happened to me this morning. It is just like a 1989 JBL showroom floor.

Wish I could have fit the whole family in just one pic. I really wish I could just watch a movie instead. I need help. I am terribly afflicted.

What a beautiful sight.

Now you just need this ultimate accessory for your JBL collection.:)

Found this pair of 4333a's sans woofers for a very reasonable price. I located a pair of 2235h and they're good to go. This is my first serious horn speaker and iconic JBL and all i can say is I am very impressed. They're being pushed with a Mac 4200 for the time being with the 240 coming very soon

WOW! I know Im late to The thread, but your speakers look really beautiful. I’m looking to re-cloth my JBL L100 T3’s with some type of blue. Did you paint or powder coat the face of the speakers? How did you accomplish it? Thanks, and excellent job!

They are Lansings, just the wrong one. But forgive me they are still part of the Lansing family. two 414's and an 811 but with a 802 instead of a 806 driver. If I had kept them longer a I would have used a N1201-8A to get rid of some of the horn sound of the 811 horn. 836A_000.jpg

I currently have 2 pair of JBL's. The first ones are the Synthesis 4306. I love these but due to life circumstances I have recently put them up for sale. It breaks my heart, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

The second pair I recently picked up on Craigslist, a minty pair of S38's. They really sound great and at $100, I feel it was one of the best bargains I've ever gotten! I just received and put together the stands today, raising them to proper height.

A97CEF6B-B715-4AEC-B148-2BC2C8CC4797.jpeg I still have the receipt someplace, but I don’t want to get it right now. But, I bought these 4430s in ‘81-‘82. I had the woofers reconed once around maybe ‘96 or so. The foam surrounds had deteriorated. Then again in 2018 the surrounds needed to be replaced, so I did that myself (parts from Simply Speakers).
Powering them, I have 2 Crown PS200 amps. 1 for each channel. The amps are bridged mono if my memory serves me well, there’s around 270 watts RMS per channel that way. Even though my ears are no longer hi-fi (can I get my ears recapped?), I think I will keep thes things ‘til I die.
