Hey Gang,

Does anyone know if there is a conical stylus for the Stanton 500 that tracks around 2.5-3grams? I have a higher mass tonearm and a bunch of 500 bodies and want to give it a whirl. I have a bunch of the new V3 styli, but the QC by that time is kinda dodgy and the 5gram of VTF demands more quality to me.

Any Pickering 604 or 605 D7C or D7T
The D7C is rated at 3 to 7 grams. Mine sounds fine at 3.5 grams (plus one gram to compensate for the brush on the 605; the 604 has no brush).

The D7T is rated at 2 to 5 grams.

As for Stanton 500 styli, here were the choices originally available, listed by the color marker painted on the front:
(NOTE: aftermarket styli and even Stanton's own newer styli may not follow these color codes!)

Aqua = D5107AL = 0.7 mil 3-7g (older) or 2-5g (newer)
Yellow = D5107A = 0.7 mil 2-5g
Gray = D5105AA = 0.5 mil 1.0-2.5g
Red = D5100E = 0.4x0.7 mil elliptical 2-5g
Gold = D5100EE = 0.3x0.7 mil elliptical 1-2g
White = D5110 = 1.0 mil mono 2-5g
Blue = D5127 = 2.7 mil 78 RPM 3-7g

I didn't know the Stanton needle numbers so thank you for providing them.

There is no EVG nude elliptical for D5100E or D5100EE, but the EVG nude elliptical PM4000DE (D1500ATE2) can be used in its place.
