What songs do you want played at your funeral?

... but ask me again tomorrow, and it might be "Dark Was The Night, Cold Was The Ground" as originally performed by Blind Willie Johnson.

My wife asked me this question once, knowing my propensity for ridiculously weird and noisy music.
I told her I don't really care... whatever's in my truck's CD player at the time.
The other day she was in my truck and turned on the CD and Richard Maxfield came oozing out of the speakers.
She said, "no way"!

I want Luthor Vandross singing (S)He's Gone and Sade singing Smooth Operator on continuous repeat.:rflmao:

“Alone Again, Or” - Love
“Maggot Brain” - Funkadelic
“It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” - Them

In THAT order!

Varen (Last Spring) by Edvard Grieg. The string orchestra version (Op. 34 No. 2), the voice and piano version from his 12 Songs after Poems by Vinje (Op. 33 No. 2), or even an arrangement for a string quartet or brass quintet would do. The music is lovely in a heartfelt, bittersweet way.

Definitely "Funeral for a Friend"

Not the song, I want the actual funeral to be for a friend, instead of for me :) (hopefully not a close one)
