PSVANE EL34-UK tubes…have any of you tried them?

I did, although I'll be careful here and not mention whom I contacted exactly - I suppose this is for someone in hifi journalism to investigate properly, so treat my piece of info as rumours. anyway, I was told that Shuguang production is indeed running, albeit slowly, but gradual stock buildup...

PSVANE EL34-UK tubes…have any of you tried them?

interesting. how would you explain the likes of Tube Amp Doctor having the Treasures back in stock after delay then - I am positive they were out as I was lurking a lot while researching the tubes and even subscribed to availability updates on Tube Amp Doctor. knock-offs...

also, I have not found any EL34 tubes per se produced by Shuguang, they only seem to make 6CA7 tubes.

when did they close their factory? Audiophonics currently has SHUGUANG TREASURE 6CA7-Z on order, and Tube Amp Doctor has both the KT66-Z and the KT88-Z which they did not have back in April-May.

    Musical Paradise MP-301 Mk3

yes, for power tubes I have switched to Shuguang Treasure KT66-Z. I am really enjoying the the sound now - apologies, but I have snapped out of a critical listening mode, just listening to music now, so can't provide a meaningful comparison, but these KT66 seem like a significant improvement...

    Musical Paradise MP-301 Mk3

well, I have replaced the pair of 6SJ7 with Russian 6J8 (6*8). not only is the microphonics gone, but the sound is clearer, and that last bit of brightness which did manifest itself on some tracks (here my experience is similar to others here) is gone - all this at a fraction of the cost of...

    Musical Paradise MP-301 Mk3

all right, I will share my impressions gradually. fist off, the anxiety about 'power': this is my first tube amp, and a single-ended, low-watt amp at that, so naturally I was unsure what to expect. my room is about 3 on 4.5 meters and I sit about 2 m from each speaker, with a bit less than that...

    Musical Paradise MP-301 Mk3

hello. my MP-301 arrived last week and I decided to keep it. I will be sharing my observations and questions here. so, the first one I have is that there is microphonics - there are noises when I touch the volume knob, rotate it, especially the metal ding when I turn it all the way down and...

    Musical Paradise mp-301 mk3 review

just placed a bid to join the club, ordered a 2018 deluxe version. I have never owned a tube speaker amp before, but have owned a few tube headphone amps, one of which (SBAF SW51+) I still have on hand. I hope that MP-301 MK3 will allow me to consolidate my study setup and perhaps sell the...

    Aiqin/Oldchen Tube Amps

just to report, I have decided on Musical Paradise MP-301 MK3 in the end, just placed the order. if it all works out well, I will be able to consolidate my study setup and sell off the tube headphone amp I currently own, and try different kinds of tubes for both headphones and speakers. then I...

    Aiqin/Oldchen Tube Amps

all right, at a risk of hijacking the Oldchen thread even further... here are some pictures - the insides, and schematics of XinXin amp, both rather small, but gives at least some idea I guess, for example that wiring is similar to Oldchen in style - no PCBs used, which will make it easier to...

    Aiqin/Oldchen Tube Amps

in the description it says: This amplifier have much possibility to exchange the power tube: EL34,6L6, 5881, 6V6, and also KT66, make much different sound feature (sic) - you have to scroll down a bit, under 'Features' section. I have just exchanged the notes with the seller on Aliexpress (HIFI...

    Aiqin/Oldchen Tube Amps

I just browsed this thread back and forward and back again, and I indeed can't find any mention of the Oldchen EL34 being able to work with KT88... I am profoundly baffled now, as I have it firmly in my head that it can, and now I don't understand where I got this idea...

    Aiqin/Oldchen Tube Amps

hello. anyone have experience with XinXin 5881 amp? I am wondering if it's similar to the Oldchen EL34 in a sense that it is 'a power amp with gain' as one member put it above and will benefit from a preamp, or if it's more standalone / integrated so to speak. I am just about to enter into the...
