Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

Really makes you wonder if I need to stay with the Onkyo family to get the job done if all I need is a proper length shaft on a speaker selector that has A/B/C/A&B/A&C options. For example, this Sony STR-7500 selector switch looks like it might work, but the shaft seems just a tad bit shorter in...

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

Well the 3000 and 5000 speaker selector switches on have A/B/A&B so I don’t think those would work? As for the 9000, this doesn’t exist as the 7000 was TOTL I was just about to reply back to you lol. The 3000 and 5000 speaker selector switches only have A/B/A&B (no C set speakers) so I don’t...

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

Absolutely. Thank you for your help and guidance on this one. Even though it’s short it’ll do the job. I honestly think a speaker selector switch from a 7000 is the only way I’m going to get it back to original. I’ll be keeping an eye out for one for sure. The switches on the 4500, 4500 MK II...

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

Great news! I received the replacement shaft in the mail today and just got done installing it! It was not very hard at all! It works! Some bad news… It’s a bit short

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

I think it sounds amazingly clear. For $50 I was very happy to pick it up. The pictures I provided in the original post are after I cleaned it up of course, it was pretty nasty beforehand. To note; I’m also in need of the AM antenna in the back and an end cap if you’re familiar with similar...

Are potentiometers are only used for volume control? Nvm, I’ll see myself out…

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

Okay, you’ve convinced me and I’ll give it a shot. There’s literally nothing on the internet for spare parts for exact replacements for the 7000 except for a couple cover knobs. Thankfully one of those was the one I needed for the speaker switch so I snatched it up. I bought the one you...

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

You’ve done this before? I’ve replaced a volume potentiometer that had a snapped shaft like this one on a Pioneer SX 850 but that was with an exact replacement

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

So, I’m not trying to be an ass because I really appreciate the help. How are you sure this 4500 switch is interchangeable? Just by looking at the switch on my 7000, it doesn’t appear exactly the same. I’m aware this doesn’t mean it’s not interchangeable, so I’m just curious how you know they...

Onkyo TX-7000 Missing Speaker Selector Potentiometer

Hi AK’ers, I recently brought home an Onkyo TX-7000. It was in okay shape, I was told it worked. The caveat being the Speaker Selector shaft being what seems like it snapped off. The rotary still turns, but I need to use a pliers to do it. I can’t seem to find nearly any spare parts for this...

    Kenwood KR-3600 lights not working

Yep that’s basically what I was asking for as I wanted to make sure I was looking at the correct location. So I need a 2A 250V fuse. I’m looking at my receiver right now, pulled out the fuse. On the fuse it says MGCTOYO 250V2A.

    Realistic STA-100 lights not working

I believe this is the photo they are referring to. 1.5A 250V fuse. Not sure on the dimensions. Looks like 6mm x 30mm or 5mm x 20mm? I guess physically taking the old one out and measuring it is the safest way to determine that. I don’t believe the manual or schematics would tell me that info.

I honestly don’t know what the heck I’m doing when trying to read schematics. Any chance you could take a screenshot, edit it to circle the 2 amp inline fuse on the photo, and post it?
