To tell the truth this saddens me, I have never given anyone on this site any negative feed back. I have been thinking of this since Friday evening after contacting multichamp12 about the records he sent me. I have bought terrible records before from some people and never said anything, I just never bought from them again. I had one instance with a member who I was buying a lot of hight dollar collectables records. In a few months time I spent well over $1000 with him. I got a warped $50 record from him so thats something you need to talk about with the seller. He told me don't trip he'd send me a refund on it and keep it. He knew it was worthless to me and really to him, **** happens and we over look condition at times

Actually with records mistakes happen, something over looked, opinions on grading is different. But the negative feedback is not just for the records, but how he treated me when it was brought to his attention. I was the bad guy in this whole transaction. When I picked three records of his totaling $120 he sent a total with $8.00 shipping. I commented on why are you charging so much for shipping, and that three records will cost around $4.00 to ship. I then said "I think I'll back out on principal alone, sorry." He got back to me and justified the high shipping cost due to Japanese records weigh more with all the inserts witch is not true. But anyway he said he'd ship for $4 and I said thank you and paid the total, gave my address and said take your time shipping.

We then talked about records as I asked him if he was looking for any Japanese titles because I have a bunch of them. After that night I never commented again until the records came.

I then politely described what I seen and didn't see on the records

The first one and my comment to him about it.
16. The Beatles - A Collection Of Beatles Oldies: (AP-8016) EX/EX (1970, RARE RED VINYL With OBI and Insert) $50.00
This one is all wavy and warped and has a good scuff on side two track one to track two. Hardly a EX record, I put it on my SOTA Star deck, this is a vacuum platter and I used a reflex clamp. You can hear the scuff, not as bad as it looks but it's there. the arm rides all the warping but it looks bad.

The next record

23. The Who - Live At Leeds: (MP-2110) EX/VG+ (1970, Gatefold with OBI and Record Insert) $30.00
This did not come with the inserts, none of the 12 they came with. I don't know if they are the same as US and UK because they would have been printed in Japan.

Fo clarity multichamp12, has not seen any of these images but his response back to me was in essence. That the Who record wasn't listed with inserts, it was listed with insert, plural meaning one insert. and that I can't read.

He then complained that I beat him down on shipping

He then said many members told him I was going to complain about the records he sent.
No refund will be granted, and I will no longer sell you any records, so please don't post on my threads anymore.

Continued, and I responded to his reply

I have never complained about a record anyone sold me on this site even if it was bad I'll say nothing. I generally just don't do business with them again, but this is not that often. I had one seller who had lots of nice collectable records, spent hundreds of dollars with him. Bought a Metallica first pressing of Masters of Puppets for $50 that came looking like a Pringle potato chip, he said just keep it. But other than that, I'v never complained so it would be impossible for any members let alone many to say what you just did. I also don't understand you refusing to take these records back, what hair is it off your nose?

About the Who record
There wasn't a plural meaning one insert, nada nothing but a inner record sleeve, do you call inner sleeves "Insert"? You know damn well this record comes with 12 inserts, and if what you say is true about stating concise descriptions why didn't you say it has none of the 12 inserts this record is famous for. Do you not think it's important to this specific title?

Anyway I'll send these back and will expect a full refund. I'll make a vid of the record on the table, I'll take photos and post it in the feedback forum. If you think it's good behavior not to refund for the records you get back I can't help that.

I was happy when I saw the records on the porch,I was only slightly upset when I opened what you sent me, now seeing your behavior, I don't know what to say.

>>>>>>>>>>

After a bit of arguing back and forth he said he'd refund my money. So we will see if he does this in full, or just tries to sick it to me more. I'll be sending all three titles back to him, the two discused here are actually worthless. The beatles record doesn't need a grading because it's warped badly, and any Live at Leads without the inserts is a $3.00 record it doesn't matter what country it came from.

BTW Last Resort Records is a good business name to be selling out of Barter Town. I think before I ever get to the last resort again, I'll buy a CD.

I'll update this thread with the outcome.

Okay, this is my final reply to you 4-2-7, and to set the record straight.

1. My shipping prices were fully and clearly listed in the description of all of my posts, which I guess you just decided not to read. $4.00 for the first and $2.00 for each additional is not absurd by all means, and I import these albums from Japan, it costs HUNDREDS of dollars just to send 50 records from Japan to the U.S. Also, after you placed the order, and I told you the same shipping price listed in my post, you said youd back out. So I said no problem, ill do you a solid and ship for $4.00, and I would also ship ANY future order of yours for $4.00.

2. I cant believe I have to explain this again, but the Who record says "With Record Insert". Meaning it has included with it, the record insert. Not 12 inserts, not 13, just 1. If you look at any of my other listings, you will see if a record has a OBI, booklet, lyric sheet, record insert, stickers, ect. it is all listed there to read.

3. You already gave me a heep of trouble when you posted in my 2nd lot posting (which you now have deleted, for whatever reason). And your reason for your rant was because you did not get the records you wanted, because someone else bought them already? I apologized and apologized to you, which I really did not have to at all.

4. I was told you would most likely complain about the condition of these records from various sources. So low and behold when you did, you did not ask for a refund, you asked what can we do. When I said no refund will be given, I meant I will not refund an amount of money and let you keep the records. I did not say you cannot send the records back, quite the opposite in fact. I told you multiple times now, send the records back, and you will get a full refund. I have proof of all of this. We just spoke about this last night.

Quotes from my messages to you:

"Thanks, since you made a big purchase, anything else you buy in the future I will ship for a flat $4.00, no matter how big your order is."

"If you send the records back Ill give you a refund of course, but I wont do a partial refund."

"By partial I meant I won't refund to a discounted price if you wanted to keep them. S 2 back, or all 3, I don't mind, you'll get the refund of whichever ones you send back."

Just send the records back! You will get a refund.

Just send the records back! You will get a refund.

I'm going to, and again here this is all my fault, and again all these people that said I was going to complain about what you sent me. Name some names, otherwise your making it up, and again I have never needed to complain and send back records like this. Have one of these people who you say are telling you this buy these records at $50 and $30 respectively. Something tells me they will not, nor would they be happy had they bought them.

Question
The Betels record that I have posted a vid and photos of.
You graded it as EX/EX, and sold it at near the highest market price.
Do you think this is a M, NM, EX, V+, V, G, or P?
What do you think the value of a record like this is?

Record is G, Cover is V+, maybe a $5.00 record for someone who just wants one and doesn't care about the warps.

The Live at Leeds
The same thing, your grading and price is way off, it's a $3.00 record, in a moldy cover and no inserts. The record it's self is boarder line V to G

So stop blaming me for sending out records like this to me, it's your grading and how you delt with taking care of it and putting me in this position. Had the listing been honest I would have never bought them in the fist place.

You need to play warped records to keep the tonearm bearings exercised. ;)

But seriously, this seems a completely unnecessary and very childish public playing out of a 2nd hand record transaction gone wrong. Not exactly the end of the world is it?

It also appears the seller has offered full recompense upon the return of the goods so that should be the end of it. Send them back, get the refund and move on.

In my opinion, attempting to publicly trash someone's reputation in order to further one's own, is not really cool either. :(

I was sent proof of the refund to the buyer, with a request to return the records which the buyer is in process of doing. In the end the seller did make this right for the buyer, other than the cost of return shipping of the records. Issue Closed

Jim
