ADS Speakers

Welcome. I have a pair of ADS 910 that I have been using for about 10 years and a small bookshelf pair, 510's? I forget the model number.

Currently own L-1290 ($64 at an estate sale :smoke:). Will never sell them. They are so much fun!

Sold my L-520s a year ago. Still MAJORLY kicking myself for that.

Can't keep 'em all, but the L-520s were hoard-worthy.

Welcome!

Love the 710s. I've had a sweet pair on loan from a friend for a while. I believe they are second gen models. Rubber surrounds with brown grill cloths and beautiful square cornered cabinets. He decided to sell them and I decided that I need them so we worked out a nice trade.

I also have a pair of L300s in black metal boxes. Amazing how nice such a small speaker can sound. I use them for bench testing projects.

I have a pair of CM5's in my home theater setup. Heavy little guys, with that plasti-crete housing. I love 'em!

Hello: I just registered; I purchased a pair of L-1230s in Ottawa Canada back in 1980. I love my speakers! The weird fact is I worked in high tech; serviced Ion Implanters which Massachusetts had 2 manufacturers! When my company in Ottawa (Nortel closed) I was got an offer to work in MA. My employer Applied Materials had a service contract to a New England company, Analog Devices of Wilmington MA. Every night I drove to work I drove passed One Progressive Way where my speakers would have been built! It was weird moving them to MA, to Salem MA my last year of work then after 15 years back to Ottawa on my retirement! I just joined this forum after noticing post for a project to manufacture a new version of ADS C2000 Active Cfossover. Have a great day!

Welcome to AK. I am a huge fan of ADS speakers. I currently own two pairs of L810’s and have owned L500’s, L710’s, and L780’s. All great speakers. I refinished a pair of L910’s for a friend and had use of them for several months.

Welcome @RBurchat55. I'm pretty sure we worked together at some point at Nortel wayyyy back. I just picked up my first set of ADS (L1290) and stumbled across this post. Interesting connection. Drop me a PM if you want to chat about the good 'ol days.

Welcome, belatedly.

L1290/2, L9e, L8e currently. L810 and 700s gone. All good stuff. OK maybe not the 700s...

The 1290s were recently displaced by Aerial 10Ts but I'm not selling them, at least not yet.

I worked for Analog for a while after moving to Boston from NJ. Aerial were close to another employer's location in Chelmsford, I regret not stopping in.

No problem with zombie threads, I'm a lot older than any of them lol

Tim
