Alternative to JBL Tweeter?

Hey gang, this is my first post, but I've been reading for a while now.
I have a pair of JBL J900MV speakers at my work and one of my colleagues has managed to blow the tweeters twice now. Rather than replacing them again with the original #306572-001, is there an alternative tweeter that could do the trick and maybe take a bit more juice before blowing (I've also asked my colleagues to stop having parties, but this is the joy of working with artists).

For reference the speakers are plugged in to a JVC JR-S401.

I am sure that there is a different tweeter that could be installed in those speakers that would take more power, but that would be treating a symptom, not a problem.

Any tweeter other than the original will not sound the way the speaker/crossover designer intended.

I recommend not allowing the stereo to be used to excessive levels.

Something like this comes to mind:

I'm a big JBL fan and wouldn't spend another dime on those speakers (your JBL money could be better spent on a different model). However, you might want to see if your amp has enough power to handle the volume your co-workers are demanding. More tweeters are blown from insufficient power causing distortion than from overpowering with bigger amps.

Any recomendations? I'm a fan of these, but am always keen to improve. I listen to vinyl and watch the occasional movie. Not sure what this jokers blowing them with though.

Are they cranking up the bass control or turning on the loudness, or (heaven forbid) both?

Are the numbnutz going to pay for the tweeters?

None of which answers your question.

Tweeters are not so bad as woofers when it comes to replacement. For what sounds like a garden variety pair of speakers, something close should work.

Post the specs for the speakers: nominal ohm rating, sensitivity, and if you can find them, crossover frequencies (or at least, is it a 2-way or a 3-way speaker?).
