AR XA V cup bearings

Long time lurker, first time poster.
I purchased a pair of AR XAs (one complete and running, the other for parts.) A few months ago and have been researching them on this forum. I have read a lot of stuff posted by the late great Marc Morin and others about mods, and have done some of basic ones recently myself. I am now looking to upgrade the pivot bearings to the jewel ones, but I am not sure about sizing or even where to find the proper bearings. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

We use the original steel ball in the arm well, and we make replacement Delrin thrust plates. I know some here have replaced the steel ball with a sapphire ball, but we haven’t tried that yet.

if the Delrin pivot cups are in good shape, especially on an XB arm, we retain the original pivot cups and polish the pivot screws.

Interesting! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'm working on one now, so I figured if I'm going to upgrade, now's the time. The tone arm pivot is different than anything else I've seen, doesn't have the damping mechanism and the post and pivot are one piece. I'll attach pictures of it later. Considering the jewel pivot cups, but can't get the screws out, any tips? Thanks

Does anyone recognize this tone arm pivot? The turntable is dated 1974. Can't find any info anywhere.
