B&W DM602 S2's?

I picked up a pair of these over the weekend in their original boxes that have maybe been played an hour total in their life then put back in their boxes. I've read online about them but was curious if anyone here used them exclusively in a system and what you ran them with. They won't replace my living room speakers but "might" see bedroom use. I've yet to play them on anything more than a Concept 2.5 in my garage and don't have any stands to put them on. (Most of my speakers are 40"+ tall) They do seem to sound quite nice for having a 7" woofer in a ported cabinet.

excellent pick up. I use mine for rear surround but of course 2nd system use should make you happy. Very accurate reproduction.

Knowing you, you stole 'em. I love my DM302s ...

I don't know about "stole", but... :D

It would be nice to have some tunes in the bedroom, or even tie the TV's output to a receiver, but I need something with remote control so there's one more expense. Always something. I had thought about using one of the two pairs of Dynaco A25's for the bedroom or Celestion Ditton 44 Series II's, or Audio Pro FX01's (Swedish speaker company) that I already have. But these just came along.

I have a pair in my 2 channel set up and I love them. I got the Sorrento finish they are quite beautiful. So far the best speakers I have ever owned.

I guess I'm going to have to make some stands and try them out in the living room. Just got to find the time...

Here are some comments to infuse an old thread with about the B&W 602 S2s. I purchased mine in 2006 [I think] in a closeout sale at a reputable av/hi-fi shop. They are the black ones which I placed on stands next to the TV. They are absolutely mint, and I will never part with them. I love their distinct sound and would be hard pressed to even find another better used pair [whatever brand] in this condition. With prices what they are these days, I am in total awe what they are charging for some 2-way designs which should not be as pricey as they are. I own 5 complete systems, some higher end than others, yet these sweet sounding 602 S2s never fail to impress. Great highs and great bass for their size. Placement is of course the all-important factor in how they will sound. I love that they are front ported which for my use solves some problems. I also have my rooms treated for acoustics. A big difference maker. Have them connected to Kimber cable.
Anyone searching for a pair of these need look no further than Ebay, as there are some very good bargains on these. I won't pay the prices for any of these new speakers. It is highway robbery. As I have gotten older...in my middle 60s now; I have changed my whole attitude/outlook towards spending my money more carefully. Purchasing used equipment and restoring it has become my forte. I buy new if need be, but for the most part I keep all of my equipment and repair when problems arise.
I also have another great pair of MINT 2 ways in a system in the office room. B&W DM 610i speakers from 1989. Anyone remember them?

i've got a pair of 601s1 that i'll never part with but i really wanted a pair of 602s for the longest. my buddy recently got a pair of 602s2(and 604s2 and 601s1 and a cc6) and the 602s are just awesome!

i hate what b&w did with their numbering system. dunno who the genious is that thought it up but he seriously failed!

My 602 S2s stands are filled with sand and spiked to the floor. Used 'room tunes' throughout the room for acoustics, as there are three systems in this mancave room. One av system, one high end audio only, and one vintage system, AND one bar..lol Yes, the wife allows it...only in this room.
