Banana plugs for bare wire type connectivity

Are there any banana plugs that are really narrow that fit the speaker terminals that are usually bare wire fit. The type where you push a button in and push the bare wire in thr hole then release the button. The usual banana plugs are too thick and its a pain to keep wrapping the strands together so they go in without any stray strands.

Thanks.

There are pin type connectors available that are thinner diameter than standard banana plugs and work for this application. Another option is just to "tin" the bare copper leads with solder to prevent them from fraying.

+1, pin connectors are what you're looking for. Make sure the body is insulated so you don't short your amp!

Thanks. You know just one word can make a huge difference. I searched that well known auction site with no luck under banana plug. However, replace that with banana pin and there's loads of them.

Thank you.

Change it to "flex pin", and you have another option. The solid pins can torque the spring clip and damage the receiver, if the wire you use is exerting too much downforce.

Or, search here.

For spring loaded clips or compression clips. stick with the Bare wire or tin the ends so that you have no frays and have no need to re-twist if you disconnect them, and you're all set.

You can also swap the clips for binding post to "modernize" the connection on speakers and/or the amp. thats a bit more involved so a soldering iron to tidy up the bare wire end is low tech but cost effective .

+1 for flex pin connectors.

I've used versions made by Ultralink and Monster.

These banana flex connectors look nice (non-conducting outer case).

I crimp on a ferrule also known as a bootlace to the end of stranded cables to put into the push clip terminals. Im not sure how well the hard metal will connect to the internals of the terminal, but since they are only used on low power things I figure its not that critical and its better than having a strand touch the chassis as you manipulate it in to the back of a piece of gear and have it blow something up.

I could sure use a set of these connectors. Thanks for citing them and thanks for posting the link.

I bought some locking bananas from the local rat shack before they closed. I've found that if i unsrew the 'banana' from the body, the stem (that the banana screws onto) can be used on equipment with regular spring type connectors and most bare wire holes. Wish the shack had more. I bought the last two pairs they had.
