bose 901 II equalizer

Bose 901 series II equalizer have gone out the roof in price lately. Earlier, I thought $70 bucks was too high but they contine to go between $100 to $200 dollars. Does anyone one know if the Bose 901 III will work well with the 901 II series. I have a nice set of 901 II speakers but no equalizer. thanks

I just was looking on eBay for what to ask for a series I equalizer I have and there is a current auction stating the Series I will work with IIIs and IVs.

From what I know, I and II are a sealed design, III and IV are ported. This factor, and perhaps others, don't allow a direct swap. Although a swap would probably sound better than none!
 
Ashnut is right; the series I and II are very similar and while I don't know for sure, I suspect that the equalizers for those two series are interchangeable.
 
Never found Gordon's post but it seems that another series will work with questionalbe proficiency. I also have conflicting info that a good equalizer can provide an ample substitute from a reputable source. Never know unless you try but I don't own a good equalizer. Bally, please see my pm.
