Don't use nichicon fw in audio path

My marantz 2275 sounded very harsh with the fw caps in the audio path. I put the old elna's back and things were back to normal. I did bypass some with wima .1uf MKP4 polypropylene's that seemed to brighten the sound in a nice way.
I used the fw caps. in the power supply and all other non signal paths with no problems.

I've been using the FW and KW series with no problems. If you want to tone it down a bit but still keep a quality cap in that position I would suggest trying some Black gates.

But again - I've never had a problem with the Nichicons. Did you give them a few hours to burn in?

Most tuner cord that I have seen is plain old Dacron braided fishing line, probably in the 20# range. Dacron's advantage is that it has no stretch in it.

AK advertiser, Parts Connexion, carries Black Gates, as well. See their banner at the bottom of any AK page.

I was thinking of going to the kw line to see if they have the sound of the fw that was really bad compared to the originals from the mid 1970's. BTW i let the receiver run none stop for 3 days with no improvement.
