HH Scott 370R

I saw one of these, HH Scott 370R, on CL not too far from me for $60. Just looking for some feed back on whether or not this receiver is worth a little bit of a drive. Currently have a Pioneer SX-650 that I am using and looking for something else to throw into the rotation.

Thanks!

I have a 387 HH Scott receiver. I bought it for my workshop because it has 1/4" mic inputs. I recapped the main board and it sounds excellent.

It should be pretty nice. Later 1970s, probably (???) Korean-made, but also still probably quite decent. Tuner should be good.
EDIT - the 370R was probably the TOTL at that point. By the late 1970s, the names Scott & Sherwood had lost their cachet, and then (and now) were less in demand than the Pioneers and Kenwoods and Marantz and Sansuis... They were still very respectable products, though.

Here's its little(r) sibling, the 350R

1979 brochure cover, the TOTL is on the bottom of that rather incredible stack :-)
Is it a 370R? I couldn't read it in the thumbnail.

:-) Clearly that one is in-between the two in my scans :-P
Unfortunately, CL and eBAY links are only allowed in the "Dollars and Sense" forum.

I wouldn't drive 70 miles (one way) for one... but 60 smackers would be a good deal if it works and were more local.

I can look up the specs if you're suitably interested...

Sorry, didn't know the links weren't allowed.

I have to go to Rockford on Friday anyway to pick up the in-laws so I am already more than half way there.
if you would please. best I could find is that it is around 70wpc.

That is one rcvr that I regret ever selling. I was so good looking and great sounding, a really good phono stage.... If I had the chance to pick one up for 60 bucks I would not hesitate to drive 60 miles to get it. The Scott 370R is a great vintage rcvr...get it.

I had the 350R and I liked it a lot. Played very nicely with my Thiel speakers and had a nice punch of bass. Also, one of the receivers that I regret selling.

According to a scan that I copied from mhardy6647, The 370R was right in the middle at 60Wpc. 390R was totl at 120wpc, then 380R, 370R, 350R and 330R. Worth a look if local. I had a 335R from a different year that worked quite well but I passed it along to someone who needed it more than I did.

heh, that's the scan I was lookin' for :-P

The 335R, I think, was from the next model sequence ("model year").

thanks for all the feedback, I think I will go get this one on Friday if it is still available then. This seller had it up for a while before then it went away. I figured they had sold it.
thanks again!
