Well, the ones that didn't catch fire maybe... they were very close to going out of business for a year or so when almost everything they made was blowing up, which led to dealers being refused warranty when it got really bad.
Orion had some amps with issue like that at the time we bought ADST, too. Under-spec copper traces on the boards of the high current models = smoke and fire, no bueno.
I liked the original Soundstream stuff myself, D100 D200 models were ok though I was happier when they started building them with real PCB's, and the purists liked the first versions with stuff glued in place and wires flying all over inside. Also liked the later MC500 though it was a big bastard to find room for. Put a lot of those and MC140's in various cars. The Linear Power stuff from the late 70's was decent too, and I cut my teeth on the original Fosgate amps (PR7000, PR250, PR2100 etc.) but of all of that early stuff I've held onto my Zapco's the longest. My oldest amps from back then are ADS (2001, P100) and after that some 151/200A Zapco amps from the mid-80's. I have one or two of the Fosgate preamps but all of the amps that go with them got stolen years ago. Wish I'd kept the HK260 I had though, that was a nice big tough good sounding amp.
