JBL 2410's, mismatched Ohms?

Picked up a pair of 16ohm JBL 2410's and tested them with my multi-meter, one measures 10.9 and the other 7.7? When I asked the gentleman about what they read prior to picking them up he said "9dcr which is almost ideal"?

Sorta confused really, just hoping that they will place nice together. Can anyone shed anylight on what I have gotten myself into :scratch2:

DC ohm meter readings will always be a bit lower than rated impedance. The exact amount depends on the drivers and crossover. The disturbing thing is that they should be close to the same. Those readings are different enough that I'd suspect something is amiss and needs to be looked at. Are there any adjustment switches or L-pads on the speakers? If so, they need to be set to the same settings to compare, though I'd be a bit surprised if they affected the DC readings much.

No I am measuring the raw drivers at the terminals.... hmm I thought that might be the case. He has bran new 8ohm JBL diaphragms that I opted not have installed because I was thinking the 16ohm driver would be more versatile, could that make a difference?

Hmmm where to start....

I don't know what a 16 ohm JBL driver should read, but maybe about 10-12 ohm? The 7.7 is way too low, but not low enough for an 8, which is usually about 6, so I'd be suspicious of it.

Wonder if this could be fixed or not and how much it would cost to get this done?

I contacted the gentleman I received these from, we will see what he has to say...

Stay tuned!
