Just ordered a Schiit Saga+ tube preamp

Hi All,

I just ordered a Schiit Saga + tube preamp. I have a good preamp that I built years ago but I now work from home in my music room and need the remote function the Schiit has but my preamp doesn’t. Any opinions???

So my question is, it this a real tube preamp or a SS pre with a tube buffer?

I have this Schiit Saga + preamp. There is nothing active except the Tube Buffer section to help drive longer runs of interconnects. It is unity Gain even with the Tube Buffer engaged. If you have source gear that has higher output levels you should be ok and you should not get pass the 2:30pm mark on the Volume control and that pretty loud. I only hit around the 3:00 mark once on some material that low output. The Saga + is a nice transparent preamp and with a nice tube will sound better.

Does the Saga+ provide enough gain when using a low powered tube amp?
