klipsch kg1

Hi guys.....been a while since I was in here....I am a soccer nut.....anyway.....I am looking at a pair of klipsch kg1's...I need bookshelf sized speakers, as I am just past the days of humongous speakers dominating a room....although I did salivate over a pair of klipsch cornwalls i recently saw for sale.......anyway, what is the general consensus on the kg1's? i will be replacing a pair of kef c140's that I unfortunately sent a spike to and apparently ruined either one of the crossover's or one of the woofers....it's a long sordid story.....I will be driving with a vintage Yamaha amp...55 w ...and am eyeing a Mcintosh 2200, even though it is much more powerful than I will ever use, it is available for a good price, and needs a dusting and cleaning....
Anyway, any help will be appreciated.
Thanks A mILLION
Mike

I just read a review of this speaker in one of my old Stereo Review magazines. They said that the frequency response is very flat within its operating range. They claimed that the bass response is surprisingly good for a speaker of this size. Klipsch build quality when these speakers were produced was head and shoulders above the majority of manufacturers. Well worth getting.

That's the 'Kewl' when anyone mentions Klipsch.
They simply didn't make anything but a great sound.
Go Ahead and land yourself some great Audio History.

Okay...I will get them. I will gladly give a report as soon as I land them. I am stoked !
I love vintage audio ! Thanks for your responses guys !

At 90 db/eff., you can get some serious volume out of them, with even a low powered amp.
Should sound great with a 55 watt Yamaha amp.
IF, you use a higher wattage amp with them, don't go crazy with the Volume Knob.
