Hello -
I have a Marantz SR5002. I've had it for 3-4 years. Bought slightly used. It's been working fine. The other night my daughter was watching a DVD movie during a storm. Boom, crack! Lightening hits somewhere nearby. Out goes the movie. The Marantz, along with all of the other equipment is plugged into a powered surge suppressor. The next day I check it out. No matter what input device I switch to, DVD, Xbox or Cable TV, nothing comes out of the projector/speakers. The exception to that is if I switch to FM, it does produce static over the speakers. (I don't have an antenna and it's in the basement.) It seems as if I don't have any signal in from any device. I notice that on the little display screen it shows nothing, like the little pic indicating signal in, sound.
Is there any breaker or any type of reset button that I can look for? I didn't find anything. Does this sound like the box is toast? Interestingly this receiver is a replacement for a JVC receiver that turned to toast before it. I supposed it's time to throw this box on the trash heap of old electrical devices and buy a new one but I thought I'd ask for opinions here first.
thank you
