Looking For Headphone Recommendations

I am moving to a small condo and I will have to be respectful of my neighbors so I am looking for headphones to go with my system.

My system is a Marantz 2235B as a pre, Luxman M-03 as a main, Large Advents & a set of Kef C-30's.

I would like to get the same sound as I did when listening to the system without headphones...is this possible? Do I need a headphone amp? I don't know anything regarding headphones so I figured I'd post here for recommendations. My budget would be $200.

No, not the same. Good, yes possible. Same, no deal. Lol. If you have a headphone output on your current device try that and decide. You can always add a headphone amp if you think it's lacking. As far as suggesting a headphone, it may be more difficult than suggesting speakers. Not only do we have to consider sound, which is subjective, we also must consider what's comfortable on your head. I like to suggest going to some place like Guitar Center where you can demo many different types and brands at the store. Won't be your source device and amp, but you'll get somewhat of an idea. Good luck and let us know what you wind up with.
 
Lol I hear ya...wishful thinking on my part I guess. I have seen in other treads that testing out phones at guitar center is a good route to go. I will update once I make the move next week and get a chance to visit one next week. Thanks.
 
I took your advice and went to Guitar Center to sample what they had and got me a pair of Sennheiser HD 300 Pro. They met my budget and sounded the best, even better than a $400 pair of Pioneers. I recommend these to anyone that is looking for more bass. I'm in heaven :music:
