Martin Logan Sequel 2 - What to do first?

I just picked up a pair of ML Sequel 2s with the assumption that there was an issue with no higher frequencies. Whether this is due to failed coating on the panels, dirty panels(even though they seam clean) or some sort of electronics failure I don't know.

Can I just hook them up and see or is there some preliminary safeguards or check that I should undertake first?

Thanks

Eric

Pull the covers off the transformer/crossover network and check to see if the fuses are still good. If the fuses are okay, the panels are more than likely shot. Before I re-paneled mine, I washed the old ones (actually took a shower w/them) with no ill effect. If you do this be sure to let them dry out really good.
Sadly Jim Power retired from ML a few years ago. He was a great person to work with and helped me out a lot with mine.

Oh there's more than an issue with the fuses.:tears:

Lets just say I can solder better with a hot butter knife wearing a blind fold.

I'm waiting for all the photos to load on photobucket.

I'm going to need a schematic and some hand holding.

Please stay tuned.

Thanks

So it appears the PO sorta tried to fix these. He replaced some suspect or known failed parts and this is what I have:

Here's the top of the Panel Driver section:

HELP!!!!!

I'm inclined to just take everything apart and start over.

Does anyone have a photo of what I was supposed to find when I opened these up?

Thanks
