Hello. Not 100% speak English properly. Excuse me.
I have my Mcintosh system. I am very happy with my previous C50 and MC452 amp.
I'm so happy with my Mcintosh MCD 1100 CD plyer. It cost about $ 10,000.
It is a reference player, but my system sounds better than analog medium to high Clearaudio.
I'm thinking of switching to:
Cary Audio CD.
Tube Ayon CD.
CD Esoteric K03.

My 1100 Mcintosh MCD does not sound as open and detailed an obsession or mine?.
Thank you.

Welcome to AK. Are the CDPs that you list the only ones that you could have access to? Is it possible for you to audition them?

I have also heard the Mcintosh MCD 301. Best MCD 1100.
But I would compare it to ESOTERIC K-01, Ayon and Cary.
Someone who has heard all of these can help me?.
Thank you.

Your Mac has the status of a reference unit: are you sure that you want to get rid of it? Did you try changing the interconnect cables, or bringing it into another system (e.g., at a friend's place or at a good audio store?)? Are you biased towards a player with tubes? On the other hand, your Mac is a SACD/CD player. Do you get unsatisfactory performance for both types of media?

Hello Guiller.
I talked a while talking with a friend, and a friend and seller.
And I told you to bring home two CD players have good and expensive than a ESOTERIC and WADIA.
To compare with mine a Mcintosh MCD 1100. I said I'm dissatisfied with my level Mcinosh REFERENCE is on digital and my analogue system is medium-high sounds better doing the test as it should do. Synchronizing the same recording on CD and vinyl, with the same song and all in real time. Switching the remote to CD and PHONO.

And tells me not to touch anything, he has done several tests. One of them with a plate middle class capsule Clearaudio Champion Limited and Benz Micro Ruby Z
This compared with a 12000$ CD, the Audio Researh 7. And he says that EVERYTHING WAS CLEAR-That the vinyl sounded clearer, emotional and transparent digital system.

The conclusion we draw is that if they had taken some CD sound better than vinyl, this analog system had long disappeared. This is why the vinyl is so successful, yet.
He says customers are becoming more passing the DAC and CD and have been left alone with vinyl. Why?. Because it sounds better.

(Sorry for not speaking good English).

Did you find after those tests that the Esoteric or Wadia CDPs sounded better than the Mac in your system? Then you have performed a real test. Follow your own conclusions in that case. What is it that troubles you? in making up your mind?

I have not got to prove it. But a friend if you have tried the CD Mcintosh, the Wadia and Esoteric and says he does not touch anything.
That a CD player for very good and expensive it will never beat a middle-class analog system.
