Hi all,
One of the linear trackers I picked up over the summer came with a Stanton L747S with the original D74S stereohedron stylus. It had a lot of sibilance and distortion on "S" sounds, which I assumed was caused by a worn stylus.
So, today the UPS man delivered a $100 LP Tunes Shibata replacement stylus. I installed it, cued up Bruce Hornsby's Scenes from the Southside (one of my favorite LPs), and the distortion is still there, and probably worse than with the original stylus.
So I assume I have a bad cart. Should I go for an RMA from LP Tunes, or try to find another cart that will work with this stylus? Will any modern Stantons work with it?
This sucks!!
