Non-Working el37 "For Parts or Repair"...(?!?)

I just checked back, and astoundingly, someone actually BOUGHT it. My brain is sprained.

Dunno...maybe I'm out of the loop and either there's a collectible value for dead tubes, or there's some way to use them for parts or repair that I don't know about.

Every now and then I thought about selling off some dead tubes just because somebody might want to make or craft something neat from them, but it always bothers that someone unscrupulous would stick them in a "working" amp and take advantage of someone.

But dropping $50 on a dead EL37??? It's a neat rarish tube, so maybe $10 for one with sweet Mullard graphics.

Now if someone spent $50 for a dead GE 12AU7? THAT would be crazy...

Maybe he was just lacking a cosmetic tube for this beast! (currently on the GW site - top bid so far is $34.03) Can't imagine any of those tubes actually do anything audio-wise. :D
