What timing, I just watched The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! last night. Even though I saw it before it still made me laugh. He will be missed.

From the other thread, first hand stories always take the cake:

A very funny man, indeed.

About seven years ago the limousine company I worked for was asked to provide transportation for a holiday fundraiser event (party). A number of noted celebrities were in attendance. I had the honor of driving Mr. Nielsen, Red Buttons, and Norm Crosby from their hotel to the event. Once I got them into the limo they wouldn't stop talking . . . they all were trying to outdo each other with funny stories, one-liners and such for the 20 minute ride to the party.

I had a great time driving them and hearing them entertain themselves. Unfortunately, one of the other drivers picked them up for the return trip back to the hotel. (I got to drive a couple of (boring) movie actors instead.)

Besides all the funny movies he acted in, that evening is a great memory to treasure.

I'll be watching Forbidden Planet tonight in his honor and memory.

Hope he doesn't mind being remembered with smiles and laughter.
