Not much in there that appeals to me but Rolling Stone is a fashion magazine, not a music magazine.

Wait, Wait - Don't Tell Me on NPR this morning was discussing the USPS' announcement that they will be slowing down certain services:
So now Rolling Stone will be twenty years and one week out of date.
;)

FCM may be delayed if they close 200+ processing facilities. RS goes periodical, we were told that, and standard_a will not be effected by any delays since they are processed on different equipment. :D

I look at Rolling Stones yearly lists on 'greatest' albums, 'greatest' guitarists, 'greatest' singers, etc.
Then I glance at my wall calender to make sure it isn't.....April Fools Day?

I think Rolling Stone is worth every penny I pay for it (I get it free with surplus airline miles). To a certain degree, I feel their credibility in terms of modern music is a reflection of the credibility of a great deal of modern music. Garbage in - garbage out, as it were.

Their Top 100 lists suck about as bad as everybody else's, although their most recent Top 100 Guitarists list was a complete joke - much worse than the Top 100 Albums. Joni Mitchell as a Top 100 guitarist and no Danny Gatton?

That said, the only thing I really enjoy about RS are some of their feature articles, many of which have nothing to do with music. Matt Tiabbi is, for example, a fine investigative journalist (albeit with a definite attitude and ideological slant).

Yeah, it was a joke...

It's all a joke if you know how the USPS operates.

Circulation really must be waning if RS is using "sticky labels". I do like the glossy format compared to the old newsprint.

I think it's a great publication. Don't always agree with what they have to say but it is entertaining.
