Its currently being completely rebuilt and Hot Rodded in a Willys/Jeep sort of way so by this time next summer it will look very different. Instead of Red/Orange it will be 98 Dodge Medium Metallic Blue.

If your interested in following the project there is a blog on it here: http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/a-little-project-update-on-chug-a-lug_topic33676.html

I am currently at the point where I am starting on the sheet metal and starting to assemble the chassis from sub assembly's. I should have it on the road by this time next summer and completed (I am building an aluminum hard top winter of 2016)

A little late for the party as usual, and just stumbled upon, but what the hay.

My 2003 BMW Z8 Alpina Roadster as I`m backing out of the driveway last Dec. (2016) to stretch her legs for one of her 100 mile top down drives 2 or 3 times a year when the weather is cool & dry, as she is not my daily driver. The 2006 Mini S is "almost" as much fun to drive.
2003~2017 she currently has less than 35,000 on the odometer.DSCN0091.JPG

How do you like the Mini S as a daily driver? I love their styling. Hear the handling is really fine.

Well Sir, I love it. The car drives like a go cart (think right, goes right, think left goes left) and sips gas & and hauls ass.
I enjoy driving it very much as well as my friends whom have all driven it.
Thanks for your interest KentTeffeteller.

Funny thing....out of all the cars I`ve owned (and it`s been a bunch), only ONE was a ragtop....it was my first car, a `58 Impala, with a 348 ("Stone Crusher") tri-power motor, 4-speed, and a 3.70 rear (it jumped out pretty good for a big sled :-) ) My friends and I used to cruise the less-traveled roads late at night, usually with a case or two of Rolling Rock stashed under the folded-down top....those were different times....

I love that car. The owner of our company used to have one and if I was in the parking lot, I knew it was him before I saw the vehicle. In addition to the looks, they even sound great.

Thanks uofmtiger for your kind compliments about the 2003 Z 8 Alpina roadster.
Though I`ve never heard it`s sound other then hearing it while driving(which isn`t the same) and hearing it being driven back to the carport at the BMW dealership by the mechanic after a oil change..
Or while outside the car idling whist it was warming up.

My gear head friends, shortly after purchasing it, and after joining me for dinner one night, afterward`s, asked me to get on it as I left to go home so they could hear "the torque sound" , and they all indicated that it had a great gutsey and "beefy tone" without being knarley sounding later..

I do enjoy the car`s performance, the 2 or 3 times a year when I stretch her legs for the 100 mile drive exercise.. The car was never intended to be a daily driver, but only to provide me with the experience of a precision car`s feeling/performance when the weather was great(cool and dry !) and I was in the mood..

Again Sir. thank you for your compliments and interest..

Take care. Regards, OKB
