Breaking records is good?
Just picked up one of these totally mint for $8.98 at the thrift. And geez does this thing look fantastic! Even the metal colored parts of plastic look new. Typical of the early 80s "New Class A" receivers, but using two STK power packs. While my sound testing was pretty much non eventful I did notice one thing... It has a very good tuner. Very sensitive. I hooked up nothing more than a 6 inch piece of wire in the basement and it was getting all sorts of stations. I actually was quite impressed by its sensitivity overall. Certainly among the better at pulling in stations in the basement. Gonna hook it up upstairs and see what it can really do in the next few day.
Aside from that, this is the second receiver of the year already, and, thats a heck of a lot of Technics stuff I have found in the last year... C'mon folks someone out there wants to donate an SA-1000 I just know it!
