Yorx Stereo HI-FI System

Hey guys I finally received my Yorx Stereo Hi-Fi System for my master bedroom. This thing is amazing!!! It has a rotary am/fm, a dual cassette deck with dolby, a built in turntable on top and a cd player. It even has a graphic 3 band equalizer. The speakers sound better than anything I've ever heard. They seem to be the two way type with plastic enclosure. I've picked it up on ebay for $95+s&h what a steal! Now my room is complete with a top of the line stereo
system which it was lacking. I am soo happy! The only thing is that one of the decks is not working and the cd player cuts in and out any suggestions? Thx.

I don't get it. Why would I be not serious. It's a all in one package which saved me some serious $$ considering if I had to buy each component separately. This way I have everything in one neat package and the sound from the tuner is really sweet. On the bottom there is a button and when you press it a drawer pops out but I'm not sure what that is for. Any Ideas on the cd player??? Thx.

Sorry, it just seemed like a joke. Glad you like it, I don't have any clues as to the tape deck or CD player though. Good Luck

I cant make out if this post is true or a joke. I hope you are serious, and if so, enjoy the system but you have lot to learn.

On a side note, DO NOT CROSS POST.

Chris

Yorx don't fly

Back in my college days, my roomate had a Yorx stereo. It was a real POS. One spring evening he hauled the offending unit to the dorm roof and threw it off! The landing was amazing! That thing exploded into about 100 pieces!

I'll never forget it! :lmao:

I saw a site (I can't remember where) that showed collectable boomboxes of the
1980's, one of them had a drawer, like you describe, to hold extra cassettes. About the
CD cutting in and out I would suggest a CD cleaner disk may help (it's the lowest price
option that you have right now). Some of the cleaning disks have music selections on
them and vocal instructions on the use of the cleaning disk. Then I would just play a
CD on repeat OR over and over until the unit had a chance to loosen-up. I've had CD
players act-up from long periods of inactivity. As for the one tape deck that is not
working it's probably the drive belt. Usually this means taking the unit apart to fix it
(which I wouldn't do until the other tape belt breaks) unless the belt is in plain view
and accessable. When you say "top of the line" we figure you mean YORX top of the
line. When you say ..."the best sound I've ever heard" we figure you have not heard
the LENNOX or SOUNDESIGN TOTL speakers. Some of the AK members are thinking
"SURELY you must be joking" well are you...SURELY?

Well, if you like Yorx, then I guess that would fall under 'personal preferences' and there is nothing wrong with that I guess. I know a guy in my city, that is pretty knowledgeable of all things audio, has great gear, etc., but lately he's been buying up all the Zenith Allegro speakers he can find. Something about Foster tweeters, and Rola Celestion woofers that were put in these things unbeknownst to the general public. :dunno:

It appears that you have a lot to learn…..But you have come to the right place for that and I guess you have to start somewhere….

Got any COOL PIX of your new stereo? :D

I dunno, guys... Y'all know I'm into "heavy metal" communications receivers-R-390As, Ek-07s & stuff...but one of the NEATEST radios I have is a VERY humble Arvin from '38...little fella has 2 tubes !! It makes a decent accounting of itself if I hook it up to a fairly long antenna...OK,OK..So it ain't a 1st rate DX machine..but it is cute, nearly 70 yrs old, & has got itself a soft place in my heart.Maybe the Yorx is the same way for this guy.-Sandy G.

I don't want to knock you or your system, but if you check out the classifieds here, I bet you could find something that would make you flip right out of your pants for that same price.

WOW! DUDE! You got a Yorx!! Those are awesome!

I've been looking for one of those! If you ever want to sell it, let me know! There's a guy who owes me about $2500, and I'll get him to send you a cashiers' check for the Yorx, and then you can just send me the difference by Western Union, and ship me the unit.

Dont know if you are serious, enjoy if you are. There is lot of really cool stuff out there cheap that will blow that away :thmbsp:

Tjetracer, you have some really cool stuff in your setup. Seems like we have similar tastes. I run JBL's,AR's and Dual tables. Had a Sansui tuner..and Eico. All cool stuff. Enjoy

That good huh? Maybe I can trade you for a bunch of separate chit that I always have to hook-up! Beside that, My stuff is real heavy and I bet you can move that pretty easy. Almost as good as a Boom Box?
