Rare, hard to find, uncommon Pioneer components

originally by gadgetworks Don't know how rare, but doing a search of this site, I just can't find any PL88F(S) turntables. I have noticed some people have them in their lists. I've seen a PL88FS on ebay but no PL88F.

I have both models. Only cosmetic differencies. The F model has a dark grey pushbutton panel on the far right the FS model's panel is silver.

originally by Dr. Strangelove MadMark,Didn't you have a RC-760 Remote Control Center? Do you have any year(s) of manufacture info on that unit?

Yes I do. I think 80's model but would have to check the unit for a date.

By the way inbox is been cleared out, sorry about that!

Hey Doc,
I've got two of those myself, with original boxes, remotes, and the whole 9 yards. I'll dig them out of the "magic closet" tonight and get you the info. What info are you looking for?

OK Doc, here you go:

Unit #1
Pioneer RC-760
Serial # FH 3608421 S

Remote # CU-560

Unit #2
Pioneer RC-760
Serial # GA 3617477 S

Remote # CU-560

The units both look like new, but one of the remotes looks more used than the other. I have the original owner's manual and purchase receipt for one of them. It sold new for for $49 and shipping and handling was $2, so for a whopping $51 you could turn your analog system into a remote controlled system.

I don't know how often these show up on eBay anymore, and I think one of the ones I have, came with some other Pioneer equipment I bought.

Hello Joker1956,

This thread is probably not the best place to post your components.

I am guessing that these components are probably mid to late 1980s. If you provide the first letter of the serial number of each component, we might be able to better direct you to a source. The first letter will indicate the year in which your component(s) were manufactured. Once you have this information, just re-post in the Pioneer forum, and we'll see what we can do to help. Also, you might try looking you component(s) up on the Pioneer parts site at http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/

All that being said, welcome to AK.

Made from 1974 to 1980. Don't know how rare. You do see them every now and then. Since they were produced for 6 years or so, probably pretty popular with the 8-Track enthusiasts.

I never saw this Version before. PL-560 in Woodcase. And couldn´t find it in the Pioneer Bible :scratch2:
