What Speaker Company Uses This Logo?

I saw a pair of speaks with that logo in a local Salv.Army. I never got to hear them, but was less than impressed by the look of the drivers. Not the way you would be with EPIs-more the way you would be with something of known crappy heritage.

I picked up a pair for $10.00 at a yard sale. Never saw them before but the weight of the things made me think twice about buying them. They are 12"x23" and have an 8' woofer and 1 1/2" tweeter. Weight is about 25 pounds each. They don't have cheap written all over them either. Check out the picture of the back. I have not played them yet because I can tell that the surrounds on the woofers will turn to goop.

Nothing on the drivers, just numbers. I think you are right about the surrounds on the woofers. Woofer has an alnico magnet and the tweeter has a ferrite magnet. Wired one of them to a 30 watt receiver just for the hell of it. Played it for a while, sounded ok, turned the volume up half way and the tweeter blew. No worries, I will make them better when I get done with this Altec Model 19 project I am working on now. Boxes are walnut veneer over particle board 3/4" thick. They are veneered on the inside of the box also.

I have a pair by the same manufacturer. Mine have 12" woofer with a mid and two tweets. They sound very nice. The phenolic ring tweeters are definatly their weak point. I am incredibly pleased with the bass these have. Cabinet construction is heavy duty with nice walnut veneer. I have not been able to come up with anything about them though.

That woofer reminds me of the woofer in my Micro Acoustics. Maybe this is one of thier earlier speakers?

Angstrom, maybe? More correctly, that's spelled Ångstrom (if I got the right character).
EDIT: guess they're still around, but their present logo, at least, isn't that one.

Those are the same as mine. Mine are not in as good of shape as yours apear. I do not have the grilles either. They play and sound pretty good. My ten year old son has been bugging me to let him put them in his room. I told him as soon as he cleans out enough room for them they are his. They are definatly worth the three minutes it took me to pull over and load them into my truck from the trash. BY the way are you anywhere near Royal Oak?
