You might say I had a good day out thrift shopping today. :banana: I'd like to learn more more about this equipment. It all seems to work fine. Any comments are appreciated.

OK I'll get pics tomorrow. Funny thing is that I strained my back when I picked up this stack trying to get my hands on it before this other guy who was eye balling it. I can hardly walk upright tonight. I'll get some pics tomorrow! I promise.

:yippy: and i thought i was lucky last week with my yamaha "bolly" that will kick a%$ the combo is first class t-70 nice tuner k-2000 is a great cassette deck m-2 c-2 is the best you are a lucky man

C2a and M2 - wow!!!! Very lucky find - hope they are in good condition. Really, not much better in vintage Yamaha....except maybe a C1 and B2.
T70 was probably TOTL when the amps were out, then came the T80. Should be a good tuner. Man, I would never go to a thrift again if I found that setup!
 
This package ranks in my opinion with the best I have ever seen as a thrift shop discovery, and the fact that it cost just $60 is amazing. Any one of those pieces, with the possible exception of the speakers, must cost more than the total mentioned.

IMHO the C-2a is a much better preamp than is the C-1, which is quite old technology (in preamps, newer technology is better as is much quieter). That is why I listen to a CX-1. Mucho quiet. And the 'a' means that Yamaha agrees. They up-graded the C-2 to C-2a when better FETs became available. That C-2a and M-2 are a 'banging' set. :banana: And, you should be able to download most of the manuals on Yamaha's manual website: http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/index.php

Great find! :thmbsp: Just do the DC offset and bias check to insure you start out right.
 
Can anyone tell me the difference between the AC input and the DC input on the big amp. Which one should i plug the preamp into? Also there is some static when I adjust the volume. The POT is dirty?? Should I try to clean it?
