The speakers discussed below are being used for live sound reinforcement and band rehearsal.
I have two 16-ohm EVM-15L drivers. They are currently in a homebuilt folded horn box I bought secondhand. It was built to the old EV Eliminator w-bin plans. The box is deteriorating from transport. If I have to build a new box, it isn't set in stone that the box will be the same type. Especially since this one wasn't originally designed for two drivers. I installed them face-to-face isobaric FWIW because the power amp I'm using with them wants to see an 8 ohm load in bridge mode and I didn't have two boxes. In this config it's mighty loud but it's visibly and audibly taking the box apart.
What type of enclusure would be best for these? Sealed? Ported? The same type horn? A different type horn? I'm driving them with a CS800. I haven't yet settled on the best crossover frequency. The mains are current model EV Eliminators (rated 50-20KHz) which are nothing like the old homebrew.
