I hope I don't get anyone in a huff, but listening to the radio makes me realize why I buy music. Most radio bores me to tears. So tell me who do you think I HAVE to listen to that I may never have, and who should of stayed in the garage..(I still dig garage music) I hope to hear of some new music, and also hear who is the Cheez Wiz.

Remember to be nice. over-rated doesn't mean they stink, just they don't deserve the attention they get... Oh yeah..... The Killers belong in this group too.

To me..

Overrated: Stones
Underrated: Jimmy's Chicken Shack

But I've got a long list of both.. but those were the two quickest to my mind.
 
Overrated: Dave Matthews Band

I have a very eclectic, varied taste in music, but sorry, I just do not get it.

Underrated: Too many to mention

Yes is overrated because Starcastle is underrated!

Overrated: Rush. I have NEVER been able to get my ears around them...my
drummer middle son thinks I'm getting senile.
Underrated: Jeff Lynne/ELO. A crime Jeff's not in the R&R Hall Of Fame.
 
I like 'em both, but some have said that Saxon are underrated because Iron Maiden is overrated.

That probably explains why I paid $9 for a used CD of "Best of the Beast" and I paid $4 for a 2 disc set from Saxon called "Coming to the Rescue." Both were from the same FYE store. I have to admit, between those two albums, Best of the Beast is better, but for NWOBHM fans, you can't not like Saxon.

. . . or Venom, or Judas Priest, or, or...I'll stop.
 
Too cool.. another Saxon fan.. I was just talking about them to the wife the other night when we were watching a documentery on VH1 Classics aoubt Judas Priest.. two of my favorite 70's-80's metal bands...
 
Overrated: Ramones. I like them but don't get the groundbreaking tag...they're playing '50s rock and it's only called punk because they aren't really doing it justice.

Underrated: The Zombies. All you ever hear is "Time of the Season" and they're so much more than that.

Oh, and Grillebilly, I'd throw the Chameleons UK into the underrated categroy, too. Love that album in your avatar. They're better than so many bands that get so much more acclaim, and terrific live. Or, were.
