I've put together the basic framework for an ADS model rollcall. I know this is far from complete, but I thought it'd make a good start.

I know I'm missing some model numbers like the 12-something, and the 400.

Anyone know which units came paired with the ADS model 10/01 time delay/acoustic demension synth?

NOTE- the above is a rough outline and is not all inclusive. Please be aware there may also be factual mistakes.

Missing Models

You have left out the very early production models of the 710 & 810, the L-710A and L-810A. These were among the first speakers produced by ADS and used all Braun drivers. The driver complements were the same as the later (non A) models.

Last bit of Data

Both the L-710A and L-810A were 4 ohm speakers.

Don't know if you're already aware of this or not, but here's a thread that has quite a bit of info on the ADS line.

There was also their subwoofer. I think it's called a P-1500 and it came with a C-1500 crossover. Great sub.

I just picked up a pair of L-470s this week...2-way, 7" woofer, 1" tweeter, black cabinets and metal grill.

There are two versions of the L400. They are both 2 way speakers but the cabinet size is much different. The older one has cabinets the size of the L420s. The later ones have small cabinets just slightly wider than the 7” woofers.

There is also a L500 which was the predecessor to the L520. I believe the L520 were 4 ohm not 8.

Also, lets not forget the L880 and L980 or we will suffer the wrath of kegger.

There may be more but this is what comes to mind right now.

It should probably be broken down by eras -

Pre-77 (I hope people appreciate this stuff.)

Pre-83 ("You like me, you really like me.")

Pre-87 (Damn, we're good! The good times will never end.)

Pre-92 (We're dead & we don't know it)

Pre-now (We exist as a name that is fondly remembered by some)

The L2030's have 14" woofs, the 600's 7", the L780/2's have 8", and the L420's 7."

PS. The L1230's are 8" woofs.

I owned L 2030's, and have a review of them posted here in the reviews section.

It was a long time ago, I may have mis labeled them as L 2090's ?
But we are talking cabinets the size of refrigerators, with 2 14 inch stifflite ADS made woofers in Acoustic Suspension.
They used a weighted line source of 4 or 5 midrange domes, and a samarium cobalt soft dome tweeter with 25,000 guass!
A very pleasant, musical speaker, imaging was just so so, and bass was incredible.
Jack Renner of Telarc used em as monitors!

The Model 10/01 did not come with an amp or speakers. But, my Model 10 came with a pair of L10 speakers which consisted of a single 7" woofer and their typical dome tweeter. It is my understanding that this speaker is identical to their separately available two-way of the time (1979 or 80), but in a slightly smaller box. Then again, it may not be identical since I seem to remember these were rated at 6ohms. As I recall from another thread, Toasted Almond says his Model 10 came with a pair of L7 speakers.

I landed an ADS model 10 a bit back as you recall, but no speakers with them.

I believe the L700 and L800 are two way with a small dome tweet and dual woofers. They don't have the midrange driver that are found on the L710 and L810. There is also a L200 mini speaker.

Hey Now! What's with the forgetting the L880?

They are a fantastic all around speaker. IMHO if I can be humble with ,,oh a couple pair.

Kegger, go back and look- it's there! Right between the L810 and L910. It was just missing the pertinent info regarding driver size, ohm rating, ect...

My choice of an ADS speaker was to initially look for an L880- a little easier to drive than an 810 I was told, and much more of a match for my humble amps.

I just happened across a pair of L630 three-ways for a great price- the only thing keeping me from still actively persuing the 880s.

I can't believe you have 8 of them!

Plese keep me on the short list if you ever slim down any more, will ya?
