What type of speaker are you a sucker for?

Of course we all love good sounding speakers, but which types have a soft spot in your heart? 2-way monitor? Single full-range driver? Line array? Open baffle? Those were just given as examples, pick what you want. I love large coaxes. Electro Voice, Altec, Knight, Jensen, Tannoy, etc. I know they arent the perfect speaker, but they do what I like best. Theyre a great mix of a single full-range and a 2-way. Still that nice point source imaging, but less picky with source material and upstream components. How about you guys and gals?

Stats, ESLs... some of the best I have heard, have been Martin Logan with Mac back end.

I will always love my horns, but my long term plan is to go dual mono to gain enough juice to drive a pair of stats.

Only Bozaks here:)

I am still longing to hear some Bozaks in a nice audiophile system. My preamp is a Bozak 919 and its a wonderkind. I just know that Rudy and Co had to have designed some of the best when it comes to speakers.

2-way sealed bookshelf speakers (dome tweeter plus 6.5" or 8" woofer) with neutral voicing at a price I can afford. Typically ADS or NHT, it seems. Edit, I'm also like the SuperZeroes, which have a 4.5" woofer. We'll see how it goes in incorporating a sub (or two).

Cheers,

Otto

I like different speakers for different things.
Just about all quality drivers work well for various music and gear.
I run both SS and Tube.

I have a great set of "White Van" that are excellent on my test bench.
(once my repairs don't fry them, I move to decent speakers :D)

I do have a soft spot for vintage Jensen.

I have a hard love for ADS and Dahlquist.

There's always one in the bunch:D That would be me. I'm actually 50/50. Bookshelf monitors or 3 way towers.

Either way I like a bit of forwardness. My favorite speakers I have at the moment are my Yamaha NS-1000Ms and my Epos Epic 2.

Given my room size monitors suit me better.

Ones with smooth octave to octave response coupled with excellent off-axis performance.

These days I have a soft spot for fullrange drivers with low-powered tube amps.
The Japanese and the Brits have some great models.
